Intent
• Represent the human body according to the amount of skin that composes it. Studies show that the human body is composed of fourteen square feet of skin. However, studies also show that most Americans are overweight. It would be safe to assume that you have more than fourteen square feet.

• The piece turned out very minimal. The paint that was used is a sign paint - oil based, very thick with a desirable flat yet rich color. I was displeased with the final outcome of this piece because hanging it on the wall became a technical nightmare. You wouldn't think that minimalism would be difficult to achieve. It had to float without the use of a frame. It meant that the piece needed to be supported from behind or from below. It was impossible for me to come up with a solution for hanging it from behind without effecting the paint or plexiglass. Anything I did to the back would be visible from the front. I ended up using four machined aluminum stand-offs holding it from the top and bottom edges. They unfortunately demand too much attention. A new solution will be devised if this piece is shown again.
