The Work
•Status: concept.
The origin of my digital work is in pixels and megabytes. The work often feels complete before it is outputed. I am trying to imagine the impact the work would have and the desire to have the work if it were left in its digital format. Presenting the work as jpg and tiff files is something new. Sure videos are projected but you cant own the projection but you can own the mpg. I want to take all of my digital work and burn it to a single DVD. (An infinite number of copies may be made.) I would like to sell all of my work at once on a DVD. Would the allure be the same. To own the actual files that made the work is like owning Barry Bonds' bat. The bat that hit so many homeruns. It's like owning the gun that killed Abraham Lincoln. (You own the weapon but take no responsibility for the murder.)
