the title is "i can't wait to get to heaven".
the illustration is of a man and a woman with cigarettes stuffed down every hole in their body.
get a stack of coffee cups and punch out the bottoms and wear them as bracelets. do it with plastic cups too.
all you have to do to make a piece of jewelry is put a hole in something. find anything and everything hard or soft, permanent or temporary, foam, plastic, dirt, soft foam (like a sponge), anything hard, a chair, a wall (bracelet, necklace, earring). stick the back of an earring on everything (a pair of cars and trucks), a necklace hooked to the bumper of a car.
this is it. i think i just hit the jackpot.
cover a toilet in the flint that is on a matchbox.
poop.
then strike the match on the toilet.
no more poop smell.
i just ordered business cards from vistaprint. they say they are free, which they kind of are, but you have to pay for the shipping. i figured why not. i will sign up and choose one of there pre-designed beauties for my very special company. remind me to do this once a month.
print a small tshirt on a larger tshirt. it would make the fat look thin.
get the bar code off of something. enlarge it or repeat it around a shirt. make the lines run continuously around the shirt horizontally. it will appear to be a black and white striped shirt made of of lines of various thickness and frequency. somewhere discreet put the name and number of the item. such as, ted and bob’ chicken tenders.
so i was in the shower when i saw this dish. in the dish was a bar of soap. this isn’t important. i’m just trying to give you an idea as to why there would be a dish in the shower. the size and shape of the dish were similar to that of an ashtray. the dish would make a horrible ashtray though. well, that’s not totally true. it would be perfect if you wore paisley shirts, 30 gallon corduroy pants and your hair was getting natty. at any rate, i started to think about design (scrub-a-dub-dub). cleverness seems to pervade good design now. for many designers it is what links the object to the idea to the smile on your face. i started thinking of ideas for ashtrays that were just interesting. they didn’t have that “AH-HA” moment that always comes with cleverness. they were just different ways of dealing with ashes and cigarettes (scrub scrub). interesting but boring. and come on, how can you avoid cleverness. it’s pasta with parmesan. it’s a latte with a rosette. it’s a room with a view. so. i came up with a few ideas…
one
it would be cast glass in both translucent brown and clear. it would be rectangular in shape and equal in proportion to a grave. there would be a hole in the cube that appeared to be dug out of the glass (there may be a place where that pile of dirt could go. oh oh oh it could be the lid!). it could stop here because it is enough. but lets see where this goes in:
one B
there could be a body or a number of small bodies inside the hole that slowly get buried in ash.
two
just make an ordinary ashtray but make it out of the cremated remains of things. make it out of ash. (lang should get partial credit for this one. she convinced me or told me to make it ordinary. thanks lang! you’ve got the brain that powers this train!)
are these clever or just morbid? maybe that will be the new trend. morbidity over cleverness! or did that end in the 90’s?
three
take a piece of the earth and dig the little hole in it and cast the whole thing. nothing is arbitrary.
use the diagram and put millions of them on the front of a shirt. the number of people born in a day. or in some part of the world. or just little babies all over it. the number born in a day.
a group of kids with balloons. the strings all run up to helicopters in the sky.
change the identity of certain institutions. make new business cards for them. i can even act as if i work for them.

Intent
• As a part of the RE:world project I would like to redesign law inforcement uniforms to more accurately prepare them and present them for the day to day activities.
The Work
• Status: concept
The police currently support their cultural image of strength and discipline (to server and to protect) with nothing more than matching. A new uniform and identity is needed.
